Hello everyone! So if you've been reading my blog, you know that I've done several 5k runs. My first one was last November, the USC prostate cancer run.

NSV: A First Time S6
Happy weekend!!! Update on my weight loss journey! By the way, NSV means non scale victory. I finally got my self into a size 6 pair of jeans!!! This is the smallest size I have ever been! Well maybe since I was like in 9th grade... Yea I know, I was big already. The thing is, when I was little, I was really skinny. To the point where you can see my rib cage.

Fighting Women's Cancer
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend! It was such a fun-filled one for me, but if I'm going to write everything about it, it'll be too long, and I don't want to bore you all. I know my posts have been incredibly long, but bare with me, I'm still trying to get used to this. So let's start with the Revlon Run/Walk for women's cancer that my friend and I did on Saturday morning. For those who have read my previous post, I signed up for this event with the goal of raising $250 that I reached within a day, because I have such great family and friends!!! But I wanted to see if I could do better and raised my goal to $500. By the day of, I reached $525. My faith in humanity has been restored once again lol. So I'd like to thank everyone that donated on my behalf, I am truly blessed to have you all in my life. I did this for my aunt that we lost to breast cancer 11 years ago, and for all the women out there.

Happy Halfweek
Happy Wednesday everyone! How did you all start off your weekdays? I've been at work, nothing new there, but been running at the Rosebowl loop afterwards. Last night I did some hill training. Gotta get ready for the Revlon Run/Walk this weekend.

Saving the TATAS!
Good evening to you all! I wasn't planning on making this a daily thing, thinking "ohhh no one's gonna read it anyway, wouldn't wanna bore people" but I had to slap myself for having any negative thoughts lol. I have just registered to participate in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women's Cancer, on May 12th. Not many people know this, but I lost an aunt many years ago to breast cancer, and I've always wanted to do something for the cause, just not sure what I could do. A friend of mine is doing the run and is also fundraising and I thought it would be great if I could do it too. This is going to be my third 5k run, the first was in November 2011 for prostate cancer, so its kind of fitting that now its for women's cancer, haha, and the second one was in January for the Disney Peter Pan Family Fun Run. If anyone would like to help support me with fundraising, please donate here Support Jessica! Any gift is welcomed, nothing is too small and it will be greatly appreciated =]
Aside from wanting to do it for a good cause, it is a great way to maintain your health. I run 5k 4 days a week and am planning on either long distance cycling or swimming on the weekend soon. For those who knew me way back when I was middle and high school, I could not continuously run to save my life. Remember the weekly mile run during PE? Yea, I always hope to God that it would rain that day so that we won't have to run... When we do, I would try to run for 10 seconds and my sides started hurting and so I ended up walking the rest of the way and be almost the last one to finish. It's been this way until last August, when I was at my highest weight, that my dear boyfriend suggested this running program called C25K, which stands for "Couch to 5K", it means exactly that, from being on your ass doing nothing, to running a 5K. If you told me at the beginning that I would be able to run for 30 minutes continuously, I would've slapped your back real hard and laughed saying that's impossible. But there goes my negativity again... Now I do it as a daily workout. My fitness have improved so much since then and its all thanks to my boyfriend, but of course I'm not completely done. I still aspire to do much much more, for example, my boyfriend does a century (100 miles) bike ride almost every weekend. Now doesn't that sound crazy??? It certainly did to me... But there it is.

Hollywood Sign Hike
Hello! I'm so glad to finally write my first post! I know there's a lot of blogs out there and to be honest, I had a fear of no one reading what I have to say. But I'm trying this new thing where you throw away any negative thoughts you have in your head, because someone told me that the only one that can stop you from doing whatever you want to do in life, is yourself. With that introduction, welcome to my life!
So I have lived in Los Angeles for 14 years and I am a little ashamed to say that last Saturday was my first time hiking the Hollywood sign trail... I wouldn't have given it another thought until a friend of mine, who is visiting LA, said that I am lucky to be able to do this because I live here. She used to live here too to go to college, but after graduating last year, she moved back to our country of origin. It was a pretty easy trail, but a good workout nonetheless, the only thing that wasn't in our favor that day was the weather. As anyone here knows, our weather haven't been... how do you say... stable? That's still putting it lightly... This past weekend was incredibly hot! Up to mid 90s! I have a sunburn to prove it -.- stupid me for not putting on sunscreen... But last week and this week is very cold, with a high of mid 60s. When will the unpredictable weather stop, I have no idea.

I honestly didn't know that we would be hiking all the way to the sign... |
